The plane with 61 people crashed outside São Paulo on Friday afternoon, killing everyone on board, an airline said.
Many people recorded the fall in videos and one of the local citizens saw the destroyed fuselage on the ground, still in flames.
According to Voepass, “the company regrets to inform that all 61 people on board flight 2283 died at the scene”,
company said according to statements released after official briefing.
The company corrected its initial estimate of 62 deaths, as 57 passengers were injured and only 4 of them were a crew. The BPMRU officials said that all passengers had Brazilian documents, not knowing whether they were dual nationalities.
The ATR 72-500, a twin-engine turboprop plane, plummeted 17172 in just one minute, according to flight-tracking data. Videos on social networks showed the plane spiraling to the runway.
The aircraft lost signal at 1:30 p.m. local time, according to Flightradar24 data, while Residents and neighbors began reporting the crash at about 12:30 p.m.
ET saying the crash site was about nine miles away from the city of São Paulo (Brazilian plane crash). The plane had reached its cruising altitude of 17172 at 1: 21 p.m. before dropping 80 meters in 10 seconds.
It took Adam a little more than 8 seconds before it hit the ceiling. Seven seconds later, the plane descended a little more than 600 kilometers.
In 55 seconds, the debris was about 17,000 kilometers. The last transmission from the plane was at 1:22 p.m. local time according to Flight-radar24 data.
