4.9 Location: The quake hit 6 miles east of Barstow Data Exchange it was felt across much of Southern California
Aftershocks:
A series of aftershocks followed the initial quake, some with magnitudes over 3.0 helping to maintain tremors in the region energized as well.
Geographic Spread: The shaking was felt in numerous adjacent counties like Los Angeles and San Bernardino, causing alarm over a broad area.
Damage Reports:
Initial reports stated that there were mostly light structural damages such as broken windows and cracked walls with no major injuries or severe damage.
Emergency response:
Local authorities and emergency services rushed to the earthquake site for inspection, evacuation of residents from dangerous building structures as well as preparation work (such clearing away rubbles on roads) in case stronger aftershocks may struck.
