Leah Remini And Angelo Pagan Announce Divorce
Leah Remini and Angelo Pagan have decided to get a divorce after over twenty years together. The actor and his wife revealed that they were calling it quits after over two decades together in a joint Instagram statement shared on Thursday, August 29.
“After 28 years of marriage that date back to our college days and a long separation, we are announcing that we have decided too formally separate.
“After a great deal of thought and careful CONSIDERATION, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce”.
Making even more future plans, the parting couple added in their statement they will continue to celebrate holidays together and watch TV shows as a family.
Acknowledging that this news would inevitably prompt their fans to begin speculating why they were calling it quits, Remini and Pagan released the statement:
“Things happen at lightning speed. Just a fun sarcastic round of introducing you all to science; when dating we first built trust about 3800 years ago but as we evolved our needs started changing… With profound love & respect”
They added that it is “absolutely a good thing” and they believe something to be proud of, stating: We are very excited about coming together again as friends, as family…So we have so much more life.
the pair said that since they documented their marriage “so publicly” on TV over time, fans deserved for a heads-up.
Remini and Pagan hoped to tell others that those relationships, even when they change or end, are not failures. We will continue to share a little of our lives as we move along…
The actress went on to marry Pagan in Las Vegas in 2003 after first setting eyes upon him back in 1996 when he was performing at El Floridita, a Cuban club and restaurant located within her hometown of LA.
“For me, it was love at first sight,” Remini told Redbook magazine during an interview conducted in the year 2010.
She did open about their first encounter in 2019, telling RuPaul she saw Pagan walking across the room and making all of the ‘wrong’ choices including asking him what time he gets off work.
Remini and Pagan collaborated on a number of projects over the years, including her hit sitcom The King of Queens, where her guests starred multiple times.
The couple share daughter Sofia Bella, whom they welcomed on June 16, 2004. Pagan is additionally a mother of three from an ex-partner.
