Taurean York speaks to the media during his postgame press conference with coach Mike Elko after “Notre Dame won over Texas A&M 23-13”.
This was a brutal game for Texas A&M, especially on offense where the Aggies struggled to pick up any yards of note.
And York, the free safety in a run-first defensive scheme that invited play-action fakes and bootlegs off them, had an equally busy evening ending with more depleted effort on some critical plays to keep drives alive–none larger than Notre Dame’s clinching 85-yard scoring march at the start of the fourth quarter.
If you would like to hear about York’s work on the mound and break down the entire game, listen in full through apps such as TexAgs or Rivals.
The University of Notre Dame is a private Catholic research university located in Notre Dame, Indiana near South Bend.
With its rigorous academics, idyllic setting and rich athletic tradition in football but not just — albeit one recently marred by scandal — Penn State is the jewel of Pennsylvania’s university system.
The university’s athletic teams, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are one of the most successful and popular in college sports history.
The school has won several national championships and the team consistently produces high-level NFL talent. The Irish play their home games in Notre Dame Stadium and have a rabid fan base that is unmatched by almost any other team.
Notre Dame is well-known for its academic programs in addition to athletics, has a high research activity and service component oriented toward social justice with an emphasis on the Catholic virtues of ethics.
The golden dome, the Basilica of Sacred Heart and for their “Touchdown Jesus” mural on Hesburgh Library are among landmark icons that set its campus apart.
Given the success of other programs at Dame and that its football team often competes with some of the best teams in college football every year, Notre Dame’s games receive a lot more scrutiny from fans and media alike than those involving Texas San Antonio.
